Fun Exercise....

I know, I know people, rule of thumb is to never put fun and exewrcise in the one sentence...but looky, looky here....a dance craze machine....I want one NOW!!!
Thing is, I think that they would be worth a fortune and so I would probably have to settle for one of these.... But, I am still not sure where to buy one of these, or the cost of such a thing. All my ebay search returned were used ones, that have no guarantee of even working properly, or, they were attatched to a PS2 which we do not have.

Oh well, have to stick to riding the treddly peddly and walking me thinks. Actually, today I did over half an hour of sweeping after a storm hit us here this afternoon, so I class that as a cardio workout :)

Anyone know where to buy one of these dance mats here in Australia? Thanks for the help in advance, Cheers Cazzie :)

Hello, Good luck on finding the exercise dance mat. Just to look at either machine seems fun. However, often that is what happens to our exercise machines, we just look at them. We are supposed to get a winter storm here in Indiana, USA so maybe we can shovel as a cardio workout.

There are some schools here that are buying these things. They are using them as a way to get kids some excersize while they are having fun.

I know the new Wiii has all this stuff and more but of course you can't get one yet! They are always sold out! I just put the oldies on and do my house work whilst dancing away!

Hi Cazzie,
Just drag out the old Twister mat, turn on your Christmas lights, and every time you see the right colour, step on that dot.

Might be an idea to turn on some music as well, don't want the neighbours thinking psycho chick has moved in next door.

MJD. well yeah, I reckon that'd be an awesome cardio workout shovelling snow, lol...and then you would need a nice skinny latte or skinny hot chocolate afterwards :)

Jay, yeah, that is a great idea to put them into schools.

Poody, yes, I bet they are popular.

Die Murane, thanks for visiting, and for the tips, turns out I can get a dance mat that does connect to my laptop and I can download the games and music for it for FREE from the net upon purchase of the dance mat...FREE is my favourite word :)

Rebecca, I don't have Twister as a game here hon, maybe I will get it for someone's Birthday in March, she will love that.

I read somewhere recently that with things like housework, it actually benefits you more if you KNOW it's exercise. People who drudge through chores without realising the workout they're getting, they actually don't get as much out of it in terms of health and fitness! Cool :)

Stace, yeah, I remember an interview with Marcia Hines, the guy asked her how she got so toned and muscly a body, her replay was that she always did everything with purpose, "Just to stand up, sit down, walk down the street or do housework..that's what I'm talkin'about".

Keshi, yeah you are right hon, Nick is a sweetie. I did find a dance mat that plugs into a USB port and I will be buying it this weekend at a computer swap meet :)

Willi's daughter has a dance mat that we all tried one evening. It was great fun. We even stood next to the mat and did the dances. I am not so good at it, but we all laughed together! We are walking the treadmill in the mornings and feeling much better as a result. It was nice to walk this morning rather than shovel snow like we have for the last two days!

Chickybabe, I guess you are right girl, thing is, I reckon I would use it more than the kids :) We could get it out and have a fun time with their friends around, and it gets them active.

Willi, good to know that, I reckon I will laugh all the time too dancing and trying to keep up with the lights and all.

Hey, thanks for stopping by my place.

For the dance pad, try a video game store or electronics store. We have one that goes with our Gamecube and it was under $50. Sometimes the video stores have used ones, that are a bit cheaper.

Come back soon.

I'm sorry but... I can't allow you to buy one of those dance mats. Not unless you magically turn yourself into a nerdy preteen boy with an obsession for Japanamation and arcades. Because that's the ONLY people I've seen using those things. ;)
