The Melbourne Zoo

Today I assisted with the excursion for the Grade Preps in Mia's class. We went by bus to the Melbourne Zoo. I had not been there for eight years and my it has changed..it has even changed extensively still since my own childhood. Much more lovely, friendly and inviting too.
The pictures were taken on my mobile as I could not find the digi-cam :(
Orangutans played like kids, hiding in sacks, Otters ran through water and were cute-as a button, A larger than life some-kind-of-monkey-with-a-rainbow-nose and butt paraded in front of us, just as we got to the Elephant exhibit the make elephant was being treated with a bath. Things went so well and all 19 children were so behaved I think they ought to all get star of the day!
Time for a nap..oh, I can't, I am cooking Tandoori chicken tonight :)

Andrew, you are right, come to think of it. I watched a young girl doing the whole weeding bit and the garden beds were definately bare. I did see some Kangaroo Paws and Bamboo and Palm Trees and very few flowers. I guess I  put it down to Winter... hmm, Will have to re visit in Spring. Galen, Wow, I make it at least once a fortnight, this time I cooked it from scratch too. The house smelled so yummy. Lord Sedgwick, I did note that as we alighted the bus we travelled on to the Zoo.. I too was upset about it. I will be taking the tram/ train with my kids next school holidays.
I also noted they charge for parking near my University, Vic Uni Footscray Campus... unreal when I used to be able to park there for free with my old Holden Premiere Bessie the beast, LOL.
