What we made..

We just made LEMONADE SCONES and they were lovely. Quite different to my Grandma's prize winning scones made with butter and milk. My Grandma did learn the traditional way from the Nun's at the Orphanage. They used to wake up at the crack of dawn, actually, before the crack of dawn, to make them...with fresh milk from the cows.

They look delicious, but I don't know if I can get thickened cream here. Do you know if thickened cream is the same as sour cream?

Thickened cream is totally different to sour cream, Beckie.

Betty, they taste delicious :)

Jayne, they sure are light and airy too.

Ginnie, they are just so easy, it is a four step recipe, no mucking about and no playing with the dough or the scones won't rise.

Beckie, they are delicious and they aren't as heavy in weight or as heavy on the old tummy as the ones made with butter. I do know that sour cream is very different to thickened cream. Just use the cream available in your supermarket next to the milk/cheese and yoghurt section :)
