Sarah had her 8th Birthday party today. We had 6 little girls here in total, and my sister and I, which makes 8 girls, yayy! (Their dad took Tom and Nick to a farm for the day). I made the cake last night. I whipped it up out of my own head, I put SR flour in it, coconut, sugar, milk and an egg. Whisk for 2 mins, stick it in 2 tins, baked for 30mins and wallah...you have a nice cake :)
This morning I got up, whipped up some cream, splatt in the centre of one cake, put the other on the of that, iced with white frosting and decorated with hundreds and thousands.
I made some mini pizzas and some fairy bread, they were all a hit.
Sarah got some lovely presents and she had an awesome time singing with them and dancing with them to LIPS on the Xbox 360. I sang a couple of songs too :)
It is only ten to 6pm and Sarah is asleep on the couch. Tomorrow is her actual birthday, so I look forward to giving her gifts to her in the morning :)

You make it seem so easy! My mum was telling me recently that when my brother and I were little, we just HAD to have the fancy pretty cakes featured in Women's Weekly magazines, and she put sooo much effort into making them, and planning parties... I think I like your way better :) hehe
Stace, yep, slap the cake together, hope it rises...wait awhile, ice it, decorate it..the kids ate it :) LOL
Yay! Happy Birthday Sarah! And might I just say, you are one gorgeous little girl! I hope you had a lovely day! Big hugs and smoochies!
The cake sounds 'interesting' Cazzie, but very nicely made up for kiddies. We hosted Little Jo's 1st birthday and will be hosting her second next month and may go on host more, so I am taking notes.
Gorgeous girl, lovely cake! Nothing better than a birthday cake made by Mum. My kids prefer them to shop bought ones.
Happy 8th birthday to dear Sarah, hope she's having a lovely birthday.
Karisma, thanks so much, she did enjoy her day that is for sure.
Andrew, many more of those to come, and I have "loads" of tips for you :) Stress free easy catering nd easy clean ups that do not involve having partys at junk food places that clean up for you. Creating memories that is the main objective.
Foxy, yeah, the bought ones always look nice, cost the earth and are gone in 30seconds. I love creating the cake and watching them enjoy it spoonful by spoonful.
I like your style, Cazzie lol, nice and easy :)
Happy belated birthday to Sarah :)
Jayne. thaks very much, I will relay the best wishes. Nice and easy..just as Tina Turner says when she sings Proud Mary :)
My dad made all our birthday cakes...covered them with smarties and chocolate buds...I can still see this...you have a wonderful family Cazzie - you are all making good memories.
