Fun Monday on a Wednesday!

As part of Molly's Fun Monday I opted to share this image of me from when I was little. It was the 1970's. I was at my nan's house in an outer suburb of Melbourne. My favourite patent leather buckle up's adorn my feet. A hand knitted red jumper, my nanna Tess knitted it for me. I also had a red skirt knitted to match it. I loved wearing that outfit. I think my mum bought the dress I am wearing in the image from a party plan called Salamanda.
I look so much like my Sarah in this image. Behind me is my Uncle, wearing the 1970's jeans and stilleto boots of course!
I loved going to my Nan's place, we spent most of our days between both sets of grandparent's houses. At my Nanna Tess' place, we would have the most scrumptious Sunday lunches. If we stayed the night we would have a bath and when we got out, we would get dressed in front of the briquette heater in the loungeroom. One time, when I was about 4 years old, I went into my nan's room and looked at all the trinkets my nan had on her dressing table. There was this one special box and I just HAD to open it. What was inside it you may ask? A set of false teeth of course! Did I try to see how they would look? Of course!!! Curiosity killed the cat, not the kid right?? My Nan could not stop laughing or talking about it for years to come...I miss her so much!!
Thats my fun Monday on a Wednesday :)

Well, weren't you the little fashionist with your little knits--originals by Nana--and matching shoes!!!! (Also a punctuation abuser--usually dashes for me. . .) Glad you have such loving memories of visiting grandparents.

By the way, I read your profile--first time visitng your blog--and agree with your philosophy of living. I'll come back for future visits.

Well I didn't have a grandmother, but Grandparents in general rock. I find it funny that you can recall the type of shoes. You look so very cute in the photo all the lates styles of the day too.

Thank you for joining Fun Monday on a Wednesday. Both your memories and the picture are very sweet. Trying on your grandmother's false teeth that is hilarious, I am glad that your nan thought so too. She must have been a grand lady.

Caz thats just vely stuff to remember...brought a tear - you look a lot like how our youngest Alison used to look and dress - and Don used to have those jeans and shoes...my daughters have lovely memories of my mum like this, sadly no grandparents left for them any more - but they still remember bits...

Both my folks had false teeth, and provided you're not the one that has to use them, they really are funny anytime-anywhere!

I rather envy people with close families. I have the misfortune of not really liking most of my extended family, and I haven't seen or had any contact with most of them for years. You should certainly consider yourself lucky that you have a nice family who you can be close to and spend time with.
