This morning was cool, yet the forecast is for a fine and sunny day. The kids got into their Summer uniform with jumpers on top. We walked/rode bikes to school. Half way there I got attacked by a damned Mud lark.... for those who don't know it, it is a mini Magpie..black and White bird. Damned thing..I think it was because I was walking Bondi that it got me. Lifted my hair and all it did!
So, when I walk to get the kids today, I will be armed with a tennis racket! HA!! If that does not work I will wear a hat with eyes painted on the back of it!

Ohhh I hate birds at certain times of the year!! I especially hate ground-nesting birds; Aidan and I were attacked by one last time I visisted Canberra. I'm living here now, by the way, but haven't been attacked since the move... well, not by a bird.
Mum and Dad have a heap of magpies at their place and the buggers are just menaces!! Maybe you could make a hat that has a propellor thing on the top like that Beanie and Cecil programme.
That sounds dangerous!!
Im terrified of Magpies LOL!
Keshi.
Beautiful bird, but not when attacking you. Hope the tennis racket works.
OMG...that would be funny! A hat with eyes painted on it...hahahahaha!
Birds can be nasty. My cat used to just lay there when magpies would dive at him and "steal" his fur...lol! Goofy cat!
i've heard that the Australian outdoors could be dangerous sometimes.
we've those electric rackets for mossies, you should use that instead. It has a nice buzzing effect, second only to light saber.
I have a mockingbird that comes back every spring to nest in the tree by the kitchen window and she will swoop at us too. I saw her going after the meter reader once and he was running down the street screaming like a girl! LOL
Aren't you forgetting to mention something?
GRAND PRIX WEEKEND!!!
Tennis racket hey? Good idea, much bigger than a cricket bat.
OMG Cazzie... in the state of TinyTown the SAME BIRD is known as the Piping Shrike, and adorns various state emblems ( mainly Govt. and SA Police ).
The Shrike is possibly the stupidest bird in Australia, so I am guessing the Mud Lark shares the same gene pool!!
An ice cream container on the head works a treat
