Almost over..

School holidays are almost over. We have done many things each week. There has been alot of swapping children from city to country and back again. When I had my cousins girls we all danced to Pink and dolled each others hair and nails. When the boys were here we played board games and some Xbox games and went to he park to play. I love the holidays, and the kids do too. But, at this time, they are sure ready to return to school. I don't know, we used to love he vacation time, even if we never went away. I loved playing out in the paddocks and riding my horse..then later on my bike. We always did visit the Melbourne Museum..nowadays the Museum seems more friendly and hands on. The smell of the musky old exhibits has gone. I am not sure if I miss it or not.

Thank god the holidays are almost over, I'm at wits end!!

If all else fails your girls can always fly to NZ and go to Kowhai Riding School. They had a whole group of New Caledonian teens staying there while Peta was there and they are staying for 6 weeks!!

Come on Cazzie. You must be a bit relieved that they are returning to school. Re museums, I hate interactive displays that are out of order. I guess kids would be very disappointed. If they are going to install them, then they must keep on working.

Jules, If I won tatts I'd be over in a jiffy! Hey, we could party!

Andrew, the only thing I will love is the organised chaos school brings, Especially in the clothes washing department. Oh, and the organisation of my shopping too..the food the kids eat is unreal..the fruit and veg!! Good stuff but they eat more of it on the vacation times.
Apart from that, I love the holidays.....the sleep ins when I don;t do mornings at work are great. We have to practie waking early again for school. That is always hard on the kids to begin with..but they get used to it.
I agree, when the displays don;t work it is annoying as anything!

I always hated having to go back to school after the holiday break. Now I love it when the holidays are over and the kids go back to school so they will be out of my way during the days if I'm running around town. LOL

Your kids look like life is good. My husband loves the interactive displays. he stands in line with all the kiddies so he can play.

It sounds strange to think we are in the dead of winter with 7 feet of snow on the ground and the kids are in school until June....and you are just starting in the sunshine. I remember the museum when I was a kid...ancient stuff then....everything behind glass and cold.

They really have funked up museums and science in general in the last decade, and I think it's a good thing if it gets people's minds going.

I know what you mean though... there's a less commercial, more academic side that is comforting somehow. And perhaps, not quite as condescending. ;)

School breaks are always such fun. But it's also good to get back into the routine of school days.

I have just found you a closer alternative to Kowhai:

Don't know how easy it is to get to Tassie but at least it's closer than NZ.
