Halls Gap, The Grampians, Victoria..

Well, we are on vacation at the moment and we have been in Halls Gap in Victoria's Grampian's Area. The image above is taken from the front of our tent. A mother Kangaroo with a joey in her pouch. Just before we left the area this morning, this kangaroo came right up to our tent enclosure.
Nicholas and Mia at McKenzie Falls, 20km's from our camp site.
Wildflowers, just some of the lovely array that can be seen in this pre historic like setting.
Tom and Nick at McKenzie Falls.
McKenzie Falls from atop, there are many walking tracks to go on, appoximately 50 I think. More data later, we are now in Mildura.

Cool!

Are the kangaroos aggressive or are they just curious? Is it dangerous to be around them?

So you Aussie's actually go camping?? Blair and I are in the throes of deciding whether or not to leave the sinking ship and head to Aussie. We love camping but were thinking we would have to sell the tent as who the hell would go camping in a land of snakes, spiders and other killing insects. Obviously you adapt and just get used to the dangers.

Your pictures are always splendid.

You're family is one happy and lucky unit of love and rejoicing in the beauty of nature.

And camping sounds like so much fun.

Enjoy the spring time! It's getting to be winter around here. Crazy world of opposites...

I've been camping at Halls Gap before. In winter. Very cold but so worth it!

This must habve been settled by scots, surely.

Odd to hear of Kangaroos bouncing around the Grampians- to me, the Grampians makes me think of Whisky and Wind

Awww! I suddenly have a craving for Roo-Bar Pie!

Just kidding I would love to sit around and watch them hop..except for the big Reds they're a little too big.

Jules is right how do you sleep in a tent with all of the killer creepy crawlers Downunda? I refer to the movie Sirens where everyday in the newspaper some poor Aussie is devoured or killed by some animal.

Of course here in the other Colony we sometimes have Bears in our campgrounds which prolly sounds worse..but the slithery crawly things getting in your sleeping bag and biting into unspeakable parts((shudders))

I'm sure you have that all figured out and besides, your family will have such amazing memories, especially because of your brilliant attention to detail and history.
