What a compassionate post. Most nurses I know can step back and be objective about their patients. But, not you! You really care! LOL

Long day?? :)

PS... just an aside... PLEASE if I ever bring my kid (well there's a bit of a travel :) ) to the ER... Yes, I know he's screaming... and yes.. get in and get it done... you won't get a second chance.

But that's.. another story.. 12mths and 2 stiches beside his right eye ago. I'll blog it one day...

Is it ok to move the antenna on my roof, as long as I stay in my car?

Very good words of wisdom. Now if you will excuse me, I have to clean my power points. I find a fork is the best thing for the job.

You should treat them as naughty boys who have been very silly. A little belittling might go a long way. Don't go too far with the little boy thing though.......

I'll try to decrease my odds of having an accident. Thanks. Now can I borrow some money to have someone clean out my gutters?

An assistant superintendent for our school system used begin every year with a plea to the teachers not to use chairs in place of ladders. Every time I use a chair to post something on the wall, I think about his plea. I am sorry Ron and Angel of Mercy.

Betty, I sure do care, I love my work.I just came home from my second afternoon in a row at work in the ER and it was soo busy, yet rewarding, I heart all of my patients :)

S, It is okay, I would love to meet you :) The Children;s Hospital is not far from where I work so kids 16 years or under go there. Welcome any time.

REBECCAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, PMSL, well, if you want frizzy hair...wtf am I SAYING....hold that thought..okay, go ahead and do it, LOL.

Andrew, I know I ought to treat them so but I cannot do it for the life of me. You know, they were just trying to be useful, but they needed to think safety first!!
I did love all of my patients and their relatives from both days this weekend. I was ahppy I made them all as comfortable as possible. Least I could do.

JR, hehe, it is ok, do it yourself just not on a windy day and not on your own at home, make sure someone else is there. Or, get the boys scouts to do it, you know, a nickle a job or something like that (winks).

MJD, I know it, I have almost fallen offf a chair recently, putting up curtains in the girls'room. Never again, it gave me the fright of my life :)

1. I promise I won't. Plus, I know how to use a ladder and that's not just my testosterone talking.

2. I have digital cable (Internet and TV come from the same place) so don't worry, I'll just pace uncontrollably and curse the cable company.

3. Yes mam.

Excellent advice there Cazzie.

ohhhh.. of course you must have many wonderful "dumbasss" stories from working in ER!

You can tell me all of them when the bus is ready and we all go fishing.

Captain, lol, I am glad you can use a ldder properly. perhaps this ought to ne a class in High school for both genders? How to use a ladder safely. Common sense must prevail sometime right?

Mark, yeah, it is true, even the silly asshats...I feel sorry for them lying there on the trolley ya know.
They have to lie still with a collar on thir neck until their spine is cleared of fractures via xray or ct. Then they might be able to sit up once cleared.

FC&F, hell yeah, you and I could chat for everrrrr..

Jay, thanks mate, glad someone listens :)

Melly, you are onnnn.

In other words - be good and don't get hurt, or I'll hurt you?

People are inherently stupid.

You need a hotline to the Darwin Awards for some of these people...they are so close to eliminating their DNA from the gene pool.
