More on Bindi....

HERE is a snippet of Bindi and her gang of brothers and sisters eating up their food. Bindi is on the right, she has a little spot on her back and we can pick her out of the bunch. Very cute indeed.

Mia and I took a train into town and a tram up Elizabeth Street to Grattan Street to my work. We had to get off in the middle of the road, wait for the tram to leave the stop, then cross the road when we got a green man to do so. I just got through explaining to Mia that we could not cross to the hospital yet because the tram needed to leave and we would get run over when these two young guys ran in front of the tram yelling "Stop you fu*$ing idiot" to the tram driver. I was so damned mad at them, they could have been run over right in front of Mia and I. For the record, Mia told them both what "stoopid idiots" they were. That's my girl!!!

************************************************************************************

Saturday night was spent at my friend's place with my 4 kids and 4 of her grandkids and they had a ball. Face painting, dancing to music, playing games and then watching Spiderman on TV. Lots of laughs and then home exhausted.

Hope your weekend was as good :)

One more thing, could you all please send positive thoughts to a fellow blogger whose love of her life Don is in hospital in Sydney at the moment? Such a wonderful family deserve nothing less.

It always bugs me a little when people act like dickheads on the road - especially when there are young children around to observe the example they set. I often wonder if people really want to die so much that they will walk out into traffic to do so.

You are a very kind soul Miss Cazzie. I did have a good weekend, very mellow but just the way I like it. Bindi looks cute as a button.

Savoury Stew:

700g blade steak
Onion
Carrot
Parsnip
Pumpkin
Kumara
3 Tbsp flour
1.5 cups real beef stock
1/2 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp mustard powder
2 Tbsp tomato sauce
1 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp vinegar

Dice meat and place in ovenproof dish. Cover with chopped vegetables. Mix all remaining ingredients and then pour over meat and veges and let stand for an hour.

Bake for 2 hours at 150C. You can add diced celery in last half hour if you wish.

Serve on mashed potatoes with plenty of butter and salt and pepper.

As for the fudge - you need a better recipe than the one I tried because after 24 hours in the fridge it is still like soft icing sugar!!

Try this one:

Easy As Chocolate Fudge

2 2/3 cups Cadbury Chocolate Chips
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can sweetened condensed milk

In microwave safe bowl, add milk and chocolate chips.
(I would personally do this in a pot on the oven)
Cook until melted.

Add vanilla, stir well.

Place mixture in heavily buttered 8x8 inch square pan.

Chill.

Farmwifetwo, cool to be first :) Thanks for well wishes, will let her know tomorrow when I go to visit.

Rosemary, welcome :) Yes, you summed up my feelings totally for middle child. I have saved you to fav's :)

Paddy, wassup matey!!

Winters, welcome, and I am glad you like my posts, I love writing them too :)

Stace, amen to that, we actually had a lovely elderly couple right besides us all the while "tutt tutting" the young men who did this. I would have sworn at them had Mia and the elderly couple not been there. Then again, I would be silly to have done that.

Captn, thanks mate, yes, the kids had a great time and slept in Sunday morning.

Jules, mellow is my middle name, I wish!! Love mellow days drinking coffee and reading the paper :)

Steph, thanks for coming by and I am glad you are thinking of Rebecca too.

Keshi, you are an Angel too you know.

Jules, the mum's will thank us for the contribution to the recipe book I am sure, thanks for the recipes..Mmmmmm.
