GANGajang are the band I think of when the hot weather approaches. The reason being they have that awesome sound and when you are feeling like a patriotic Aussie, you can realy get into singing "Sounds of then(This is Australia)". They are just way groovy man!!!
Mondo Rock was the other group I always think of during the warmer weather with their hit "Come Said The Boy" it!!! Also the song "Cool World". I guess the launching pad for my love of their musiccame from the flick "Starstruck" (1982). I wanted to be just like the girl Jo who was the lead actress in the flick, I guess that's where my fetish for red hair came from..Mmmm who knows. If you haven't seen it yet you has great comedy, great music and some great scenes of Sydney in it.
Looks like I truly am stuck in the 80's doesn't it? I do love all music genres though and love to try to sing them all too :)
What songs remind you of Summer?

It's automatic when I
Talk with old friends
The conversation turns to
Girls we knew when their
Hair was soft and long and the
Beach was the place to go

Suntanned bodies and
Waves of sunshine the
California girls and a
Beautiful coastline
Warmed up weather
Let's get together and
Do it again

With a girl the lonely sea looks good [and bright]
Makes your nighttimes warm and out of sight

Been so long
(Hey now hey now hey now hey now hey now)
(Hey now hey now hey now hey now hey now)

Well I've been thinking 'bout
All the places we've surfed and danced and
All the faces we've missed so let's get
Back together and do it again

Thanks, Cazzie!

Techno. Reminds me of massive rave parties outside, sweating like pigs and off my tits on various illegal substances :P

Musicians come to mind more than songs. John Mellencamp comes to mind. His music always makes me want to roll the windows down and turn the radio up. To me - that is what makes a good summer song.

Mark, awesome stuff mate, cheers :)

Steph, LOL, that reminds me of a morning shift after a rave party where I am hydrating the patients and giving them shit to top vomiting, after a rave party that is.

Willi, John Cougar rocks, love him

Lantern...that B52's song reminds me of my 1st year at Uni doing my nursing degree, love it totally !!!

I have so many aussie bands in my Canada we are a young mid sized country with amazing music..
Great Southern Land by Icehouse is my fave downunda song..
I have more Oz bands than Canuck because we are too close to the US and they overwhelm us lot are lucky to be so frickin far away from everyone..that's why you have such a better defined and distinct identity.
Think leafs..snow..
Think Australeer and well...the list goes on and on...well done!

Hi Cazzie,
Not really a song, but The 12th Man reminds me of summer.

Love Shack is a great dancing song.

Songs of summer...I guess my selections are obvious ones.

Summertime from the Porgy and Bess musical and Summer in the City by The Lovin' Spoonfuls
