A Day At The Royal Melbourne Show...

The first pic is of the Woodchop Competition, this day was the competition day for the Victorian Police to display their talent. The crowd counted how many chops they had each side of the stump, before it colla[sed away from the block.
The second pic is Nicholas after his ride on the biggest slide there at the show...he flew down that slide the skinny little turd, LOL!
The third pic is from the main arena, there was a contest between three teams. Red, Blue and Yellow. Yellow team won the cup. They had to race around the circuit on the horse, tag the guy driving the rig with the horse towing it, he had to go around the circuit, pick up a few guys and some hey and some other equipment and get to the finish line. Then the motocross dudes had to speed around the track and tag the dune buggie guys and that was the end of the tournament. It was great to watch, I went for the yellows, yippee, they won :)
4th pic is some genie magic, two guys got roped into doing an act with ropes..no! Not that kinda act people!! Sheesh!! They had to kick the rope and it was supposed to tie it in a knott...did not work, PMSL!
5th pic is a vehicle for a radio station here in Melbourne, they broadcast live from teh show this year.
6th pic is the horse that won on the day for her excellent skills out in the arena..just gorgeous.
7th pic..the boys in skermish with another 30 kids or so in the stands at the main arena. They had a ball.

Now if I could only read this in that beautiful accent that Melbournians (is that a word?) have, this would be a perfect post. Love the pics.

Keshi, thanks, I loved taking them too :)

Jay Man, I sure am worn out, not any more than Rebecca is now though as she took the girls to the Show today, whilst I took the boys to see "Stormbreaker".

Swampwitch, yeah, G'day mate, that is the way you say Melbournian :)Maybe I need to find out how to use u-tube and I can speak and you can hear it :) Then I can teach you some Aussie slang words :)

I so heart the show! I don't watch many of the demonstrations but i always get up close and personal with farmyard creatures, sometimes even the animals. Haaaaaaa!

Yeah, I'm stuffed.
On the plus side, I have heaps of lollies in my showbags, so that will keep me going for a while.

But the important question is, how many showbags did they score?

Cazzie!!! said...

TC it sure was hon..

Lantern, I limited it to one each and then they got to have a Bertie Beetle one each, that was it. THey had 2 rides each. But, the most fun they had was when they played skermish with all them other kids in the coca-cola main arena. Oh, and when Nicholas got to demonstrate some ti kwon do

Dr Evil, on this day I took the boys alone to the show. The next day, Becc took the girls to the show and I took the boys to see a flick at Highpoint.
Dunno about Bertie Beetles at shops...anyone?
