Life has been more than busy enough around here. I am not sooking- out about anything, just trying to find time to scratch myself is hard sometimes. Would I have it any other way? No.. of course not! I am lucky to be busy with my family, with my friends and well, even though work is very trying at times, I am lucky to have work.
Last week I was fortunate to go on an excursion as parent helper to Scienceworks with Sarah's class. I had a group of eight 9 and 10 year old kids. They all glued to me as we walked through the exhibits, thank the Gummy Mary! I was worried I would loose one of them there. I did point out where to meet up should one of them get distracted and loose our group.
We got to see a show in the Planetarium. It is much different to the old Planetarium we used to go to as kids. The technical aspect of it all was amazing. We learnt about different seasons and why they occur. We learnt about different constellations and other amazing things. I love this stuff! It was great to hear the kids say "Ohhhhh" and "Ahhhh". What made me laugh was the fact that they all giggled when the presenter was explaining how he was able to show us stars that are not able to be seen "with the naked eye". The word naked made them all chuckle. I had to explain what he meant by it to a few of the kids when we got out of the Planetarium.
Sarah understood, now, why we love camping out bush. It is partly so we can look up and see all those stars, planets and the Milky Way so very clearly. That is one of my favourite reasons for camping out.
Last week it was great to have had a lift to work with a girl who lives close by and works at the same place I do. It was nice to have someone to chat to as we drove in for our night shift, and then to chat to on the way home. It has been a long time coming, but I work casual and she full time, and our shifts do not always correlate.
Tomorrow there is a theme day at school for my Primary School kids. Mia is now a Cats supporter, Sarah is a Bulldogs supporter and Nick..he stays with the Tigers. I will endeavour to get a pic of them all together in the morning, but that is hard to do when they do not stand still for five seconds!
I hear ya! I sometimes wonder how we have enough time to even think these days! I also used to love going on school excursions when my girls were little. We always had fun. And I am grateful that where we live we can see the stars so clearly every night! It was one of the first things I noticed when we moved away from the city and suburbia. Bliss!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you do it Cazzie.
ReplyDeleteAnd I remember when we first moved from Sydney to Junee and we sat out in the backyard and we could SEE THE STARS so clearly. Ten years ago now and I'm still in awe.
I love reading you blog because you are so busy, happy and full of life, You seem to enjoy all the special moments that make life so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you fit everything in Cazzie. I will guess your husband is pretty good.
ReplyDeleteKarisma, Bliss it would be to see those stars as you do. I would buy myself a big telescope and sit there in a stool star gazing on a clear night :)
ReplyDeleteFoxy, hey there, you are a busy beever too :) Yes, being in awe of what is out there above us... never cease to amaze me either.
Mom, don't get me wrong, I have my bad days too :) But, I do always try to see the positive in things.. praise the good and not too much focus on the bad times :)
Andrew, you are right there. Hubby is wonderful. We both share the load, although he would disagree with that and say I do it all. We do put in 100% effort to try and give the kids the things they need...and reward them with nice things when they least expect it. We both work hard at our jobs, and we have pride in the place we live. We both hope that'll rub off on the kids as they grow up.
Finding a balance seems to be an art we have almost got right :)
Your posts always make me happy...its nice to think of your family all doing all those wonderful things - a rich childhood they will remember till they are very old.
