We have had the most wonderful trip with our children. They have learned, and we have learned so much about our wonderful country. We have seen things that many have not. Which makes This blog and the Internet a marvellous medium to which we can share our outback adventure, and teach others about our gorgeous country.
We took our four children in our Nissan Pathfinder, with our little old caravan in tow, for a four and a half hour drive. We always have rest stops, stretching the legs, the obligatory loo stop and refuel our tummies too. Whenever we stop, we talk to people, to travellers and locals alike. We learn about the area we stop at, there is history all the way along the trek.. the Sunraysia Highway, The Calder Highway too. Some of the towns we go through are not much more than a pub, or a Wheat Silo, literally!
I have loaded plenty of pictures and named as many of them as I can onto a photobucket link HERE. Please just have a flick through them if you will. I plan on doing a Friday's History post (about time eh!) about Wyperfeld National Park. It is the most marvellous place, and we have been fortunate to experience the first rain in many many years in the drought affected area. What a splendid place it would be to see all the lakes full again!

Wow and double wow...we used to do trips with the kids before Don was injured and its so good to know that people like you are still doing this stuff...great memories, beautiful photos and isn't the Australian bush something else.

I adore living in rural Australia... I've played some of those "one pub towns", and they are an absolute joy and delight to play music in!!!

Keshi, me too! Star gazing is amazig from there, you could almost touch them it would seem.
Andrew, you know, it seems surprising to me, but when I got back home to Melbourne, the nights seem that much chillier... and when I went into work last night, I was shivering. Bendigo, on the way up there, was even cooler..brrrr :)
