My walls...

As part of wonderful Monday Meme's, thanks to Jan for hosting it, we have to speak about an provide an imae of our favourite walls..
This is my lounge room wall. To the left is a wonderful arrangement of leaves from my favourite desiduous tree in the yard, now that it is Winter I love looking at this because it reminds me that the now baron tree will soon Spring to life again:) It was a birthday gift for me last Summer.
The print to the right is of my favourite ever-ever-ever painting from when I was a little girl and my nan had it on her wall in her loungeroom. Titled "An Elegant Soiree" by Victor Gabriel Gilbert. He was a French artist who was born in 1847 and died in 1933. His marvellous technique of painting lives on...and in my loungeroom too!

And a good joke for y'all...

A drunk staggers into a Catholic Church, enters a confessional booth, sits down, but says nothing. The Priest coughs a few times to get his attention, but the drunk continues to sit there. Finally, the Priest pounds three times on the wall. The drunk mumbles, 'Ain't no use knockin, there's no paper on this side either.'
Haha!!!

I felt like I was stalking you there for a minute! I visited three blogs like two minutes after you! LOL! But then I skipped a few as I had already seen them this morning!

I love your leaves, very nice and original!

I've always liked that painting, reminds me of the Jane Austen stories.

I've heard that joke before but it still made me smile :)

Love the joke.

Your framed leaves is very artful I really like that idea. And the painting itself is terrific. I can see why it's a favorite for you.

Thanks for dropping by my Fun Monday.

I have some old paintings that I inherited from my Granny but they are of a Moose and Deer in a Forest Fire HAHAHAHA so I can't put them up...EVER..as in NOT EVER!!

That confessional joke offers a tremendous opportunity to play with metaphors concerning the booth..
I shall resist the temptation.

Beautiful painting but more so because of where it came from - Your nan would have looked at exactly what her great grand kids look at... thats something - loved the joke - had to read it twice - thick as a brick somedays
