Love this song....

The Pretenders..Brass In Pocket..

In the history of rock, there is no better example of how a female singer can be pretty, sexy, and talented without being overly glamorous and flamboyant than Chrissy Hynde! So, what does maketh the woman? I don't reckon it is her clothes or her makeup..I think it is her un spoken style and witt...her aura...yep, that is it. What sayeth you?

I liked the Pretenders, but I didn't really ever get into them like some people did. But, Chrissy Hynde is pretty darn talented.

I have several CD's...it's her side step!!!

I have had a hard time pulling up your blog for over a week. I can get the words but few pix....just want you to know I have been here but I have dial up and it gets testy a lot.

Chrissie was one of the boys and not some tarty little objectified rock 'chick'.
She was tough but vulnerable..oh what the hell she seemed like more of a real human being than a lot of others back in the late 70s.
Their music did the talking and they didn't need a bunch of gimmicks..still like them..still listen to them.

Jay, yeah, I am not so much into them so much...but I do like a few of their tracks.

Rosemary...yes it is her side step. Glad you've been around...sorry about the testy dial up you have :(

Keshi, thanks girl.

HE, I agree with what you say...real bands don't need gimmicks..yep.

Well, I don't know about "pretty", but Chrissie ROCKS. I saw them a few years back opening for Neil Young. She started with "The Loner" and ended with "Needle and the Damage Done." It was SWEET.

My favorite thing though is a DVD from the Rockpalast TV show with the Pretenders in concert. At one point between songs, she flips off a guy in the audience and says" I think I made it pretty obvious that I don't want my picture taken so you with the camera FUCK OFF!" That was a classic moment.

I saw these guys back in the "80s Crissy can tear the guitar up! It was one of the best concerts I have ever been to and that is saying a lot!

They said she was fantastic and tough.
