Midyear School Break...

Yesterday the kids and I enjoyed a lovely drive to Gisborne. A lovely country town with a nice park and equipment newly built for the kids to play on. The walking tracks were also great, smelling the country air, listening to the Magpies argue mid flight, and we spotted a couple of skinks basking int he sun too. It was a nice 15 degrees celcius up there, cool in the shade yet just perfect in the sun.
I met up with my cousin and her 5 kids. When we left, I came home with two of mine and one of hers. She took Tom and Mia with her up to her country property. So, she has two 10 year old boys, 2 four year old girls, one 3 year old and one 1 year old. I have two 8 year olds and one 6 year old. Phew...thats a few kids right?? LOL
Today I took the three kids to the local shops where we watched the Tweenies perform. It was surprisingly not overbearingly LOUD..as most kids' groups are. I remember taking my boys to see Hi 5 perform and having to leave because the noise was unbearable for young Nicholas at the time. My cousin's little girl, who is Nicholas'age, just loves being down town in the "big city".
I may or may not do the History post for this Friday..oopps, that is TOMORROW for us here! Yikes..I shall see how I go, busy time right now mid year school break and all.

Very nice pics. It's way to hot here right now to where a sweat shirt. I'm a big fan of country towns.

Surrounded by kiddlins - awesome! And you guys have magpies too? I didn't know this - never saw a magpie until I moved to Colorado! I hailed from the US's Midwest area prior to Colorado and all they have to offer (in abundance, that is) is crows!

Spending time with the kidlets sounds far better than a history lesson! I am curious how your school year runs. It this similar to our summer vacation which goes from June to mid-August?

I love the pics. And do know that summer will be back with you in the twinkling of an eye, and we in Detroit will have a few feet of snow to shovel off the walks.

Hope you and the little angels are all well, Cazzie!!!

See you around soon.
And thanks for your compliments. My friend Dawn (she's also a poet)liked you too.

A day with children at the park sounds grand.

Your posts remind me I need to take my kids on outings this summer. Even if I take along a teenager for help. After this week, once speech camp is done.

History post?? Next week is fine.

Have a great time for the rest of their vacation.

I was feeling nostalgic for Fall today and it's only just turned into Summer here. :) Lovely pics. :)

I really enjoyed Nocholas's YouTube debut, too. :)

I hope you are able to keep all those kids situated. I would lose a couple in a crowd that big. LOL

Hi Cazzie: I just spotted my first skink in my son's backyard but I have yet to hear a magpie. I think it's fun to see how different our worlds are.
