Our New Baby!!!

I tell you what.....giving birth to this baby was much easier than giving birth to my other four. The first born took 36 hours of labour before his tiny 6lb body was delivered...with the salad tongs and all!!(Too much information, sorry to early morning readers!!)Then the next one took about 6hours, he took a few minutes of resuscitation to bring him to life..but here he is 7 years later..still a skinny little dude but eating like a horse. Our Girls came into the world in under 2 hours each..and although you cannot wait for them to talk..you sometimes wish there was an OFF BUTTON somewhere!!

But this baby, our BUS..has taken us all our life to get. It is now home...there she is...in action on the Sandy Bus Route. She is now a bit naked...stickers removed and all..both inside and out. She sits out the front of our place occluding the view of all motorists coming around the Avenue..but not for long.

As you can see from the accompanying pic, my hard working hubby had spent all day yesterday in gale force winds digging and doing further measuring to make sure everyting will be right to position the bus on four cemented areas in the yard. One for each wheel that is. On the weekend Andrew leveled out the ground and do some of my favourite color Orange spray paint all over the yard to mark where the bus will go. Strings and all have been erected. Is till cannot believe it is all happening. I think that this has been by far the hardest delivery ever..I even got the baby blues after realising we actualy were going to be in receipt of the thing! I had to lay down for a while even..sounds weird but true.
Years ago I bought us a boat, a 17 foot half cabin Mustang..she was a ripper. I was so darn excited when we got her from Streaker boats back then. But, you cannot travel around the country in a boat that size and you cannot fit a family of 6 in it comfortably to do anything like what we will eb able to do in the bus.
I may just have to start up a new blog just for the bus "WE VAMOOSE".
Right now I am about to go out and take more pics, I hear the cement mixer happening out there...I wanna get dirty !!!

This looks like some adventure! I always wanted to travel across the country on one of those tour busses that celebrities cruise in...have martinis and eat good food while seeing the entire nation pass by. But in your case, this even feels like more fun.

Good luck with everything and I wanna see more pictures to come!

Wow that is so kewl!

And to think we were going to settle for a boring old Winnebago in a few years. I guess we need to aim higher. Congrats!

Heya Ace, if we are off on an adventure when you visit I am sure you can come along...and if we are still doing it up you can lend us a hand too (winks).
Hey yeah Deb, matinis and good food sounds like a grand plan..note to myself...put drinks bar in bus!!!
Hi there Slice Of Life..winnebago's are way cool, but we would need alot of cashola to get one to fit our 4 kids and us in..we are set for adventure even before we drive the bus away :)
