I am still around..

Sorry for the lapse in blogging time between posts, life has been very busy. Today was my day off work and after having put on some washing in the machine I went out and ran some errands. Them I went to the shops to get some much needed food supply for the cupboard. I had a squizz at Forges because they had specials on some clothes I wanted to stock up on for the kids for their impending birthdays..Mia's is March 19th, then Tom's is April 3rd...sooner than later for both of them.
Then I had lunch with a friend at the Local, a very nice steak with some peppered gravy topped with some garlic butter and a side of lovely seasonal vegetables, yumm! We then went back to her place and played Creedence Clearwater Revival..really, really loud!!
It has been a lovely day, despite it being really cold and bitterly windy. Yes, another great day for ducks!!

I feel good..

This is my Grandpa's favourite song..and also his favourite clip..why? Well, just look at thoe women dancing. Apart from that, his other favourite clip is one of Tina Turner singing...and of course, as he says, her face is not much to look at but she IS sex on legs....the old bugger! At 82, he is the most lively person I know. I have to make an appointment just to call him and catch him at home...life is good..haha

Boo Hoo..

Shoulders really do hurt, they are even a pain in the butt. I have gone to the physio a few times this week and have had problems with pains down my arm from the shoulder and the neck. It can also make you feel ill. A nice hot pack on the shoulder is what I went to bed with last night. Tonight I might have to have a drink before bed...any tips?

The kids had a day off school this week due to the teachers going on strike..they want a pay rise ..and well, they blooy well deserve one. Just like us nurses, we are paid much much less in this state per year than our colleagues interstate..in fact, 10 grand less a year to be almost exact. Almost exact..is that right? Hmm..moving along..... well, the day of the strike only Mia went to school. That was hard yakka getting her there when the other 3 didn't have to go.

Sorry Day here went down a treat....our new PM made alot of people happy and alot of people mad too..oh well, you can't please everyone hey? Let's hope everyone just moves on, deals with it and has a good life....life is what you make it.

Me time..

Today before coming into work I wandered the Vic Market in town. I had an Affogato and loved it. I got some strawberrries for $2.50 for a 700gram punnet...devine. Better than that, I got some smoked salmon and some dip and a nice fresh sour dough roll for my tea tonight. MMMmm, I have been to heaven.
BING.... time to go back to work...that was my break...what was your day like?

Where Did Summer Go?

After a decidedly cool Summer's night last night I am pleased to see the Sun has appeared from behind the clouds. Mia and I took Bondi for a leisurely walk. We came across a cat on heat... the owners were going for a walk with their dogs and left the on-heat cat meowing for a fella to come mate with her. Irresponsible gits!!
I am washing curtains, the breeze will surely dry them as I hang them when wet... so not to crinkle them of course.
I finished reading Bryce Courtenay's newest book, "The Persimmon Tree" today. I loved it. I love the way Bryce writes...his sentences have a thousand meanings each. As I read it, I can hear his voice narrating..albeit he has a strong South African accent. I guess, if I ever got to meet him I'd have to tell him that this book is far better than his others. I have read all of his books, I love them all, and with every new addition, he captures my mind. The Persimmon Tree... go borrow it today from the library, it is a great novel.

Excuse me..

I have been working a fair bit lately and you know, school is back in so excuse my absence please. The parties have begun with Nick going to a sleep over party tonight. I think his friends' mum is brave, she is hosting the party for 5 boys aged 8 yrs! Thing is, I just might have to do it for Nick in return come May..so I won't whinge ok :)
Tip for anyone going out tonight, Saturday here.... Do not piss a girl off who is wearing stiletto heels..she may just take one off and imbed it into your forehead.......Mmmmmkkk?

Sometimes you have to know someone is looking out for you...

Two days ago I was thinking I would like to go and take the kids to the Twilight sessions at The Royal Melbourne Zoo. They have this thing running during the Summer months where you can take a picnic, listen to some wonderful music and walk around looking at the animals as they are being put to bed for the night by their keepers.
I forgot that last week I entered just ONE sms into a Herald Sun Newspaper competition for this very thing. Yesterday I opened an envelope from the Herald and Weekly Times wondering what was going on. I had not put any advertisement in the newspaper so I was stunned when I opened it and seen these tickets with a complimentary handwritten letter saying I had won. Yayyyy.
"I'm going to the Zoo-oo". (Singing and skipping here!)
I got four passes to go, and I cannot wait..the kids will be thrilled :)

The Funniest Thing..

Last night after a disgustingly busy afternoon at work I got home to find my baby Bondi like this! Snoring to add hilarity to it all too! Such is life..I wish I was a dog too. This morning he had some left over chicken schnitzel for breakfast..with some gravy of course. As I said, such is life!
