Yes, it has begun to look alot like Christmas...... everywhere I look. Then there is the Christmas music in the stores... I don't like some of the songs, they are sung so terribly some times.
I cannot wait, however, for the carollers to sing at work. They stand at the bottom of the stair well of the hospital and sing..sometimes with a quartet..and the sound is majestic, floating all the 9 floors up...sounds like angels singing :)
Hubby may take the kids to see the Myer Christmas Windows tomorrow while I work.. I hope so, the children do love it.
There are so many things on, almost every day until New Years Day.... one day at a time I will take it :)

Fairy Mia...

Today has been an all seasons in one day kinda day in Melbourne, sunny, windy, rainy (no complaints there) and some hail too. I kept zan eagle eye out on the rain situation so I could get all the towels dry on the line and bring them in. I added softner so they smell and feel great now. Mia decided to dress up, by her own self of course..and so the end result is as you see there.
Things are busy-as with Christmas around the corner, and my brithday too..gah..a year older..lol.

Andre Rieu Concert
(The amazing Vienna Castle took 5 days and 250 people to set up) Yes, I did go to the Andre Rieu concert here in Melbourne last night( friday Night) and it was the most stunning concert I have ever been to. I have been to see The Bolshoi Ballet, The Australian Ballet, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, The Rocky Horror Show, AC/DC, INXS, The Sound of Music, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra... The Hyde Street Band (Don't laugh you local people!) and many more I cannot recall right now...these were all live shows, all so amazing, I just love LIVE!!!
( There were two fountains and two ice rinks and a ball room.) Yet, This set up, this show, the music, the crowd, everything was spectacular. Just when you thought the encore had all but finished, out of nowhere came at least 100 Bag Pipe players.... amazing!! Not all fo the music was classical. Alot of people got up to waltz the night away... so lovely!
It was a hot windy humid night, and it turned into a down pour with lightening and thunder when I left the Arena. Oh what a night :)

Decorations..
Yesterday the kids and I hd a relaxing Sunday making paper Christmas Decorations. Lanterns, stars and nativity scenes were colourfuly coloured in.... mouthful of a sentence I know!
What sparked this artistic flare was a man down the road here who has begun the arduous task of putting up umpteen decorations with lights and moving things that delight children. He was up the ladder putting an angel in his front tree. Soon, his bay window of the main bedroom will have a snowing scene complete with Christmas Train and presents and..you guessed it, a tree!
I think he won an award last year through the energy company, well, I am guessing he will need it again this year with the amount of things he is putting up! There is also a plasma TV outside his garage and chairs set up with Christmas Movies for young and old to watch.
NO..he hasn't light up yet, he will wait until Dec 1st to do that...and I am guessing we will have to be there to take photos and film and watch a flick..... I may take popcorn this year!

Andre Rieu...

Someone I know is working very hard to set up this awesome stage for Andre Rieu's concert in Melbourne. It will be a wonderful show to see, since they are constructing a Castle for a stage! Click on the SITE to see the stage, and keep on clicking next to see how it will look! Amazing and beautiful :)

You have to wonder..
When I was growing up we would have parties for any old reason at a friend's place. The parties involved lots of fun games, music, dancing and singing. Also, mostly, just sitting aroung gas-bagging (talking) for hours on end.
When I was a bit older, not yet 18, we would go to the Laverton RAAF Base to the movies, you would pay 5 dollars and see one new movie and one old. Afterwards we would probably go to McDonald's or to someone's house. We would listen to music again, there would be a group of about 10 to 20 of us I guess.
Then when I went to University, I moved out of home, moved in with my then-to-be-hubby and a mate. We would have friends around, watch videos..then DVD's when they came out. We would have some parties, mainly play billiards and play music like Def Leopard, Queen, Cold Chisel, Eurythmics.... old time rock'n'roll....good stuff!!
NEVER, in any of these times, did we see the violence that is in the news of late. A young man age 16 died in hospital after some thugs gate crashed a party and King hit the boy. He did not wake up after falling asleep in his bed at home... what in the hell is going on???
People driving cars, young adults driving cars.... too many passengers, too much to drink or smoke or whatever... plain disregard...please tell me there are still good kids out there who have fun as a group and do not cause trouble... I worry for my kids! it is not too long until Tom will be a teen..what then? I hope I am doing everything right here.
