Virtual Me...

There's me on the left now, and there is me on the right..will be me at Christmas time anyhow. Yep, I am a virtual model :) The kids and I went on a very long bike ride tonight. I had a flat tyre, luckily I had the bike pump with me. Then, as we were riding along on our merry way, my front tyre comes off!!! I kid you not. My friend gave me the bike, and we had takent the front tyre off of it the other day and tonight, it came off. She hadn't screwed the bolts up tight enough.

We all laughed it off, yet I was lucky to ecscape without having the need to use the services of the Maxillary-Facial Surgeons at work!! My nose could have come clean off..or worse still, I could be a Michael Jackson look alike!!! OMG!!

The ride was great, the kids did so well too. My girls used to have trouble getting up the steep gutters when we cross each intersection but they went so well that I only had to help Mia once the entire time. She has a bike with a handle on it so all I have to do is grab that and help her up anyhow. She said, "I do it by my own self now mummy!" Yayy!!

We also got to meet some kids from down the road. Which was a bonus since we have been here almost 3 years and haven't met any other kids really. They all plan on coming for rides with us now so that is just ACE!!!

So, my virtual self will look great by Christmas, and my butt and legs will look cool. It is my tummy I want to get rid of. Since my surgery last year it looks like a verandah, a small one, over the porch kinda thing..that is GONE!!! Or going to be at least. So bring on the treddly peddly...I am ready for this now..or at least once I get to the bike shop tomorrow and have them go over the bike for me. Gotta make sure I stay in one piece now :)

Stuff.....

Well, I still got that sinus thing happening and the throat is beginning to clear now with the antibiotics but my other half and one of the littlies has now showed signs of getting it too. I promise I never sneezed on them and I always religiously wash my hands too...ever the Florence Nightingale am I.
More news on birds here...not the girlie kind, I mean the feathered kind! We have invaders in our roof, they are shitty little starlings, and they made a home in our roof last year, which we evacuated. Turns out, they were just trying to get in (maybe they are men, HAHA!) but, they did not succeed. They do make such a noise though. We spoke about it Andrew and I and we came to the conclusion that we must invent a spray for birds, you know, if we can have fly spray, why not invent a bird spray...call it "Pissoff". LOL
Having said that, I hear a Magpie out there, I have some meat for him to eat so I better go feed him. Maybe I could pressure him into being my home security and scare off the Red Wattle's and the Starlings too.

Unseasonal Weather Here...

Welcome to Melbourne...we have the most unseasonal weather anywhere on this planet I suspect!! Today, it is freezing...cold bursts of wind, much needed rain (thankyou God, rain dances in ode to Drought have been answered) and would you believe...snow up at Mount Macedon? However light it may be falling it is still an indicator that it is darn cold for this time of the year....when we usualy have weather that is 20 degrees celcius plus.
Take a few weeks back for insatance, we hit over the 40 degree celcius mark. That was unseasonal for October for sure. Right now it is just 12.5 degrees celcius..Brrrr. Bring on the warm weather, but just don't turn up the heat too much I say. 25 degrees is perfect :)
Maybe my kids will get their wish for a white Christmas..what with decorations and fake Christmas Trees with white snow caps on them in shops and all. I have to keep reminding them, "It is mummy's birthday first BEFORE Christmas". So I hope they all make me some nice things for it. The home made gifts are my favourite. Although, I have run out of my favourite perfume "Fragile" now so I am hoping to get a nice scent.
Have a great weekend people.

Granny Nap..

I got me a red throat and the doc has put me on an antibiotic to kill the bugs that are deciding they like my body to live in...well...NEWS FLASH to all BUGS...you are gunna die..mwhahahaha!
So I am going to have myself a granny nap. Then, when I wake up I might try fix the xbox that has decided it wants to display its dashboard features on my TV and not let me watch Coyote Ugly today..just the kinda day for it too...cold, windy and miserable. Bright side...we might get rain for the garden...just grand :)
Oh, and I sharpened the girls' pencils so we can sit there and create real art this afternoon...after the granny nap that is :)

Early NYE resolution...

Mine is to NOT let people take pics of me until I have lost the weight I am going to loose. Nowadays with digital cameras it is a great thing that we can trash can the pics we don't like..I would only hope people would show me them and then trash them if I asked them to. Yet, I now feel confident that I CAN do it..I am doing it..slowly, bit by bit.
I have the support of keeping tabs on the wonderful progress my friend TC is making. She now has a new home, but you can see the great progress she is making there..well done TC!!
I am going shopping with my mum today, I am going to buy me a dress in a size 14 and hang it on my door as inspiration of what I want to get into by mid Summer. I can do it :)

This is what I plan to eat each day:
Breakfast is cereal with half a cup of milk.
Morning Tea is fruit.
Lunch is a pitta bread with salad and ham/fish/chicken
Arvo Tea is fruit or yoghurt.
Tea Time is Meat/chook/fish with veggies or salad
Desert is low joule jelly with fruit.

I always do drink lots of water so I will continue to do that too.
We are in the process of fixing up my bike so I will be riding that on the road very soon. Right now, the exercise bike is the way to go..and alot of walking.
Anyone got suggestions on fun activities they like to do to exercise?

DO NOT!!!!

Do NOT wear a G-String if you are a guy..even if you have a great body THANKYOUY!! Unlike this DO-NOT guy here...sorry if you are reading this, man in the picture..but..hahaha, BUTT, this is just a no go zone.
Do NOT disconnect my internet connection without even sending me a frigging bill..and Do NOT say that you cannot email me the bill or even a late notice when you are the biggest frigging internet provider around...that's because when the contract is up, you aren't going to be my provider anymore!!!
Do NOT make lie to me and say I look great when I do look like crap...although I am feeling alot better about myself now..THANKS!!!
I am doing three blocks of 10 to 15 minute exercises DAILY as of October 21st, it only took one look at myself in real time to see how shit I look and how my eyes have the biggest bags under them I have ever had. Enough...it ain't happening anymore. Despite working and running around like a mad bloody taxi driver with four kids.
I am writing in my little fat notebook each day, the things I eat and drink and the exercise I am doing. This is where I will record my weight in a months time aswell.
Life is looking better each day..I even chopped all of my hair off...things WILL CHANGE..but DONOTS probably will not!!!
Anyone got any DONOT things to rave about??

Waffling on indeed.....

The 3/4 denim pants I wear are becoming loose on me, yippee!!! I haven't been weighing myself and I am just plodding along day by day. I was having the diet shakes two meals a day and a normal meal one of them, with fruit in between and alot of water. But..the diet shakes make like a plug in your bowel (if you know what I mean)...so I have gone onto just one shake a day and a balanced meals each other times.
The big thing for me was doing the exercise, 30 minutes solid 3 times a week. Our DVD player died..too bad I couldn't revive him, LOL....so I moved the x-box into the main lounge and hooked it up so I could do my moves to Bob Harper and the Biggest Looser team.
I went to see a GP yesterday and got her to weight me and measure me and I said to her I will come back every 4 weeks to get her to do the same. So we made an agreement for me to work by. I also bought myself a notebook, funnily, it is titled "The Fat Little Notebook"..me to a T!! HA!!!
**********************************************************************************

Today I get a surprise on my answer machine. My best friend of 31 years calls and leaves a message to call her back with exciting news. I am like, "Oh wow, she is going to get married? Well, I will have to work harder now to loose the weight I want to loose in time to be in the wedding"...but, she answered her phone when I called and said she is 17 weeks pregnant!!!! Wow...I would never have guessed it. We haven't seen each other in about 9 months or so, so this was a nice surprise. She is notably panicky about having the bub, being 35 years old and having her 1st child too. She said her place is not childproof at all...I said I would rent her my 4 kids if she liked so they could then baby-proof her house...LOL.
Story goes like this with her and I....we began Primary School age 4, same teacher, same day. We got into trouble together by the wicked Ms Jackson for talking too much..who woulda guessed hey? HA!
Grade 5 comes along and she moves to the country down Gippsland way. In High School, I am told by an old neighbour of hers that the whole family died in a car crash...it notably crushed me to bits.
Year 12 (HSC) and a girl starts school with us, she moved to town from where my best friend lived. She tells me that my friend is still very much alive and in fact..was right here in our small town because she is an apprentice hairdresser and she does 5 week roatations of school in the big smoke and practical at a salon in the country. I scoot over to her Gran's house and there she is..my best friend..with freaky 80's hair and all..typical hairdresser!!!
So, we both became what we wanted to be, me a nurse and her a hairdresser..who woulda guessed it.
Sadly though, it turns out her only sister Sarah died in that car accident. So we named our first daughter after her. Her mum passed on not long after Sarah was born due to cancer that kept on returning after that very car accident. She was so very pleased we called our daughter Sarah.
I hope my friend's journey with her baby is a nice smooth one, and that the baby is blessed with good health. My friend deserves the best when she has not got her mum and sister here to share her happyness with her.

"Side by side or miles apart, dear friends are always close to the heart. "

Conservation....

Look, last night I watched the ABC news on TV whilst the kids sat glued to my bedroom TV watching Futurama. I seen a snippet of what goes on in Parliament from yesterday's session and what caught my eyes and ears was when some dude, not sure what section or party he was from, said that our Government is the only one in the World who is scrapping the idea of using renewable energy sources and yet is giving thought to perhaps, in the long run, using nuclear power as the option.
I never speak on political matters. At a young age I had to endure my dad and my pop who would go on for what seemed hours and hours about Liberal and Labor and who is right and who is wrong..never coming to an agreement. So, I stay clear and have my own thoughts.
I do hope, however, that the use of wind and solar energy does become more widespread. Why not use the elements to create power for our towns?
The water situation is worrying me too. The worst drought in 100years..people being carefree about their use of water. I grew up on a farmlett with tank water. I have lived in town since I was 18 now and I still to this day take short showers and turn the tap off whilst I brush my teeth. My dad used to have the pea soup bath at the end of us all haveing our washes (I am one of 4 kids) and that was to conserve water. Thanks dad if you are out there somewhere reading this.
I use my washing water to water the grass out the front and backyards. People commented on the green lawn last year and I said, "You too can have green lawn liek this aswell you know..it ain't that hard mate." It is true!!
I have heaps more to say on the water thing..like the powers that be should have forseen the population boom and created more water reservoirs 10 to 15 years ago...they should stop the building of new estates and get the shit sorted so we can all get through this Summer without so many restrictions.
Going for a trip to CERES just might learn the politicians a thing or two...start the conservation now!!! Use your bloody brains and think of the future NOW.

Saturday night...

On Saturday night I finaly got to meet Rachy after all these months of blogging back and forth. The mood was nice and calm at the Clyde Hotel in Carlton where we all met up. Rachy's cool mum was there too, no BS about the both of them that is for sure..genuine people..I like that!
Darlene, another chick blogger was there too, it was nice to also meet her and speak of nothing yet everything. We did attract a straggler of a guy who professed he was from Switzerland or some such place, I don't believe it though, I think he lives at the local brewery!!!
When I was almost home the feul indicator dropped massively, so I braved the night and stopped to get a full tank of juice so I could get to work for Sunday a.m.
Hope your weekend was a goodie..was it?

GANGajang...

GANGajang are the band I think of when the hot weather approaches. The reason being they have that awesome sound and when you are feeling like a patriotic Aussie, you can realy get into singing "Sounds of then(This is Australia)". They are just way groovy man!!!
Mondo Rock was the other group I always think of during the warmer weather with their hit "Come Said The Boy"..love it!!! Also the song "Cool World". I guess the launching pad for my love of their musiccame from the flick "Starstruck" (1982). I wanted to be just like the girl Jo who was the lead actress in the flick, I guess that's where my fetish for red hair came from..Mmmm who knows. If you haven't seen it yet you oughta..it has great comedy, great music and some great scenes of Sydney in it.
Looks like I truly am stuck in the 80's doesn't it? I do love all music genres though and love to try to sing them all too :)
What songs remind you of Summer?

Hot today..

As usual the Bureau Of Meteorology had the high temp of today forecast a little out of whack...the top was supposed to be 33degrees celcius..but it has currently hit 36.6 with a NNW wind. I actualy didn't think it was that hot until I got a call to go get Tom from school as he had been sick. So I picked both of the boys up from school and bought them home and then put on the A/C.
I am not sure, but there used to be a rule that you could pick your kids up if the temperature exceeded a certain temp. Will ahve to check it out. Mum picked us up a hand full of times I am sure when I was a kid. I used to catch the bus which was an hour long journey home from school. No air con in that old sardine can of a bus..that's for sure.
Might go teach the boys how to play dead fish...what hot weather games did you all play at school to keep cool?

** Addit,
03:25pm 37.1 degrees celcius...and climbing

Always look on the bright side of life....

This is one of my favourite scenes from the movie "Life of Brian", what a marvelously funny flick..even if you didn't truly like it I bet you remember some of the words from it and even the lyrics to the song I have titled this post from. So many great flicks came out around this time...including Star Wars . Movie buffs will know they weren't released the same year but they all made big impacts on the population who follow them along.
Tell me , what is your favourite movie, be it comedy or otherwise?

Comedy..

I am not sure what y'all think here, but...pardon my butt, it always gets in the way.... I think comedy on the idiot box has gone downhill. Maybe I am getting older and more serious or something, yet I just don't think comedy is the same as it was when I was younger. Growing up with Are You Being Served, On The Buses, The Benny Hill Show, Good Times, Welcome Back Cotter, Dame Edna Everidge, The Paul Hogan Show...then into the 80's on Aussie TV The Comedy Company , Fast Forward and Full Frontal. I do enjoy watching Thank God You're Here that is on at the moment, it is very well done and I just love the unpredictability (such a big word for me this time of the day ) of it all.
Chartbusting 80's..when I remember to watch it, makes me laugh alot too, yayy for Channel 31. I truly feel sorry for Jeff having to sit next to Josie at times, but she is such a pisser..I think she will go a long way out there.
I know I have not named all the great shows that have hit the TV arena, perhaps you can name a few for me. I know I get a great laugh out of re-runs of the old comedy shows....bring them all back I say.

Aussie Birds....

Ahhh, I know I have lost the plot now haven't I? At least she can it the kid into it and take him along to surprise all her hockey friends. It only took two hours of looking to find THE one. But it was all fun.
Today I worked a morning shift, I still have to get around to changing my blog name to I DO DO MORNINGS!!! Been awake since 5a.m... I can't wait until Daylight Savings begins. It is way too light in the mornings already people! Them Red Wattlebirds have been in the trees bloody whooping it up from ha-past four and I am gunnna go mental at them if they keep it up. If they were kookaburras (Scroll down to number 13 to hear the sound of a kookaburra if you haven't heard it before. http://www.birdsinbackyards.net/feature/top-40-bird-songs.cfm and, to number 14 if you want to hear my wake up call from the bloody wattlebird)I wouldn't mind as much as they just laugh all the time.
Want to read something funny about birds? Just go to Rach from Sydney's blog here and here. She is a real hoot, pardon the pun there!
If you scroll down to just below the asterix line there on Stef's blog, another chick from Sydney, you will see her take on the common magpie. Onya Stef, you are a pisser girlee!!!

DON'T USE THE POOL AS A TOILET!!!

Right, yesterday was an un-seasonal 30 degree celcius day for us here in Melbourne. So off to the pool I trott, four kids in tow. Looks as though every other person in the city came to the pool too, it was packed! Too windy to go down to the beach, I did not feel like having my skin sand blasted.
Swimming for about an hour and the announcement comes over the loud speaker, "Everyone out of the baby pool, it is now closed". WTF? It was only 5:30pm and the pool closes at 9pm. So, we all get out, then, the life guards have a job to do...they have to look about for a turd! YES!!! Just like in Caddyshack..only this time, it ain't no chikito mate!
Now, I know people piss in the pool, but I have to say, I did get out with all four of my kids each time they needed to empty their bladder. Nope, I am not special, nor are they, they have just been taught right.
So, why the furkin' hell don't other parents get their kids out of the pool and take em to the loo? Coz they are lazy asshats! No excuse, with the water safe swimming nappies, parents outta take note and put them on their little ones.
Then, an hour later, the deeper pool (where we now were) patrons were asked to leave again. The rapid river ride had been laying dorment and a turd went down there. WTF!!! We got outta there.
Next time, I will be brave, very brave..and I shall go to the beach for a sand blasting of the skin. Who knows, it may just be the therapy I need to rejuvinate my skin :)

Werribee Zoo

Here is a pic of three of our kiddies at the Werribee Open Range Zoo. They loved it. Mia keeps on speaking of it and today at our local shopping centre, they had one of the ute's that is painted Zebra- Like in the centre court there. It was just advertising the fact that we have something special in our very own backyard and people should get along and see the place.
I cannot wait for Summer to get here. They have the Rhythms of Africa nights there at the Open Range Zoo, will have to take the kids along to it..oh, and I won't forget the mortein :)
Guess the caption above Mia's head...I bet she is saying to Sarah, "I want one of those cats for Christmas!"

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark...

My baby brother had the major hots for this gal here when she was first on the scene in show biz. What ever happened to Elvira? Is she now just an image on pinball machines in some Arcades? Or does she still do shows and her own sitcom?
I have gotta say, I wouldn't mind being able to dress up like that by next Halloween...hehe!!!

Rye Holiday...

Rye Beach.

Sarah having a fun time at the beach, trying NOT to look cold..but alas she was :) The cold breeze not helping one iota.

Mia in a mongst the flowers that are scattered around the beach front everywhere.

I took the kids to the Drive In Cinemas at Dromana, we saw Barnyard..it was a great flick. We went to the park everyday and walked alot too. The fresh air was refreshing..ha! What a sentence. We light the wood fire each night and toasted marshmallows on one of them.
This weekend I have had a sore back, nope, not shaggers back people!! Anyhow, I haven't worked but we did go to a BBQ at my mum's place for Grandfinal Day, it was good to see the kids playing and getting along..the adults having a few tinnies and all too.
