Busy few days..busier days to come...

Whilst the 3 girls were at The Royal Melbourne Show, I took the boys off to Highpoint Shopping Centre. We went to the flicks to see "Stormbreaker". Kind of a mini version of a 007 movie. It all seemed like Dejavu at times...the lead character going into a toy shop to get his "gadgets" such as a yo-yo that ain't no yo-yo.....and a mini nintendo that ain't no nintendo. Then, a scene in the bad guys office, reminded me of a scene in a 007 flick where the badies walk over a small bridge and I think it was Goldfinger (correct me if I am wrong people) who flicked a button and the baddie was eaten by Pirahnas.
Anyhow, it was a grown up version of Spy Kids and a kiddie version of Bond...James Bond!!! Great stunts, won my boys' hearts with the motorbike scenes...go see it..ok!!!

***************************************************************************
Last night we went out for our anniversary, 11 years off having tied the knott together at Werribee Mansion..not too bad for this day and age I must say. Thanks to Alice the Maid for looking after the kids and cooking them spag bol...or was that Mrs Doubtfire? LOL
We ate at Villa Romana Trattoria in Lygon Street. We could not fault the service or the lovely meals we had. Then we walked our food off and looked through Borders and Readings. I love the smell of book shops. We bought a book on making soap, "Soap Naturally". One of tyhe spin offs in maing biodiesel is that you can make your own soap too. Nothing is wasted. I got me a book called, "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari",. Last time we went for tea to Lygon Street Carlton, I bought my life saving book "The Power of Now".

***********************************************************************************
Today I went to work, yes, a morning shift after a night out :( I called home to make sure everyone was ok. I got this on the end of the line..." Well, right now I am rescuing Mia's Guinea Pig from her Barbie Doll Volvo Car"...WTF!!!
I am taking the kids to Rye on the Mornington Peninsula tomorrow for a few nights. I haven't begun to pack but Master Tomas has been packed for two weeks already..in anticipation. LOL.
I will catch y'all later in the week then...... stay safe people :)

A Day At The Royal Melbourne Show...

The first pic is of the Woodchop Competition, this day was the competition day for the Victorian Police to display their talent. The crowd counted how many chops they had each side of the stump, before it colla[sed away from the block.
The second pic is Nicholas after his ride on the biggest slide there at the show...he flew down that slide the skinny little turd, LOL!
The third pic is from the main arena, there was a contest between three teams. Red, Blue and Yellow. Yellow team won the cup. They had to race around the circuit on the horse, tag the guy driving the rig with the horse towing it, he had to go around the circuit, pick up a few guys and some hey and some other equipment and get to the finish line. Then the motocross dudes had to speed around the track and tag the dune buggie guys and that was the end of the tournament. It was great to watch, I went for the yellows, yippee, they won :)
4th pic is some genie magic, two guys got roped into doing an act with ropes..no! Not that kinda act people!! Sheesh!! They had to kick the rope and it was supposed to tie it in a knott...did not work, PMSL!
5th pic is a vehicle for a radio station here in Melbourne, they broadcast live from teh show this year.
6th pic is the horse that won on the day for her excellent skills out in the arena..just gorgeous.
7th pic..the boys in skermish with another 30 kids or so in the stands at the main arena. They had a ball.

Boys can become girls....

So there you have it, create your own Camel Toe and the bonus of it is that it has not been tested on Camels, LOL!!! I had to post this because it made me laugh so much. Next we will see cricket players wearing them as protectors for their private parts...and then Grid Iron players too, LOL!! I doubt it, but you just never know.

Aerial Angels..Outstanding....

Yesterday, Sarah had kinder/creche so that meant I was one kid lighter for the day. We did plan on going to the Adventure Park again as we had gone there last week and had a BBQ. Things changed when the day ended up being the hottest September 19th in 20 years for Melbourne. Currently, it is 29 Degrees Celcius.
So, I took the three kids to Highpoint Shopping Centre. They experienced The Pancake Parlour...I had the Tuna salad of course :) They enjoyed their double stack with honey on side.
Then, they had a few goes at some games at Playtime Family Entertainment Centre. Nothing like shooting some baddies to make ya feel all roused up!!!
We then walked along to centre court to find a girl swinging three stories up inside the dome shaped centre court. Swinging on a trapese. We were mesmerised. The group are known as Aerial Angels, they are superb.
Gorgeous looking people, elegantly dressed and stunning make-up applied. The music they do their Aerial Exhibits to is great too. It could well be described as "Ballet on Air". One of the acts was with the guy and a girl using the Solo Trapeze, it was done to a lovely piece of music, and you could not help but feel you were watching something really intimate between them. They portrayed the background music ambiance outstandingly.
The most outstanding performance was by the woman on the Aerial Silk, she did not have a harness on nor a mattress beneath her. The muscle control and the stamina she showed was second to none. Amazing! The Cloud Swing was great to watch, ther woman got us all going with her act, the song of choice was "I want your love" Transvision Vamp
Scroll to the bottom of the page of the link for Aerial Angels and watch some snippets of their performances. You would not be dissapointed at all.

Coffee anyone?

I have broken my diet, I had me a coffee at breakfast time today. I could not resist it. Having worked two morning shifts this weekend I need a pick-me-up today. I loved this image of a coffee, it looks too lovely to drink doesn't it? What art it is.
When I was in Sydney November last year, my friend's Stef and Chantelle took me to a cafe near St Vincent's Hopsital. They said it is THE BEST place for coffee, in Stef's words, "To die for". It was true! I had an affogato for the first time ever, in fact, we all did. They also had some lovely Biscotti aswell. I guess, it is part of what happens when you do go to Sydney, you become adventurous, it is so relaxing out in the cafe scene. Not to discount the many cafe's we have here in Melbourne, we have oh-so-many. I frequented many cafe's down Chapel Street when I was a graduate nurse. Cafe Sienna being my favourite haunt.
This weekend it will be our 11th wedding anniversary. Last year we went to Lygon Street and found a wonderful Italian Restaurant, "La Spaghetteria Ristorante"...ten points for guessing the interpretation of that into English...1000points for interpretation into Russian, LOL! We were walking along together and all the restaurants had their loudest, deepest voiced men out front coercing you to take a seat and try their cuisine. The gentleman out front of this restaurant was lovely. So we stayed on. We sat outside and experienced delights of their menu. This is a highly recommended place to dine.
By far, the place we love the bestest (my word, not in dictionary) is Pellegrini's. There, you see the man Sisto who is just part of the furniture there. He makes everyone who walks through the door feel like they are coming into his house and about to dine in his family kitchen. The ambiance is that good. The food is electrifying for the taste buds and the sounds of coffee machines and people talking excitedly sets the mood for a wonderful experience. If you are lucky enough you might get a seat in his kitchen area and get to watch the wonderful cooks creating their masterpieces.
We got engaged there and I had my hens night there. Then, each time I fell pregnant we went to share the great news with Sisto, he was so delighted. When friends visit we take them there too. Pity it is now just the Espresso bar, as until a few years ago there was the restaurant out back. Still, if you are ever coming to Melbourne, let me know, you will not be disappointed one bit.

Wishful thinkin'....

Here is a friend and I with the lovely George Clooney...just having a great time!! HA!! I wish, have a great weekend....I am working both mornings, of course it is lovely weather. Just wait til next week when I am not working, it will surely rain. We do need the rain, but I don't want it on my days off.
We had to hire a car for the weekend, because the Exa is in the workshop being repaired. Let's hope they finish it soon so we can get it back. Looks like we will sell it for a diesel car though. Just putting feelers out for a diesel vehicle.
Went for a drive in the hire car out to where me Mum lives, out in the stix there..not stix much anymore. Where there were cows there are now houses, man..I feel old!!! Took the kids through the three dips for a ride. It is a windy road that has these mean dips in it, it makes you feel like you are on a roller coaster ride, your guts ends up in your ears and all. Of course they wanted MORE MUM, HA!!
Just listening to Sugarbabes, "Push My Button"...so, fess up, what pushes your button? Do you one?

Tench or Stench?

OMG!!! We sat through the show of David Tench , seen in that link there, last night. I think the only thing that made it bearable was the fact he had some nice guests appear and they were funnier than him!!! WTF is up with that?
We think his voice is that of Tim Ferguson..whaddya think?

In other news, the kids have a dress up day today, dressup in AFL colors. Of course, the boys went in Tigers yellow and black. I painted their lil' faces in Tigers colors and all. It truly is a fun day..for them aswell of course, LOL.
Sarah and Mia wated to be butterfly and My Little Pony..so they lay on my bed whilst I did some art work on their cute faces too.
If I can find the digi-cam I will take pics to post.

Things you can drink, other than beer, and you can run your diesel engine on it too!!!

These are some more pics from the day we had at CERES, the first of many to come. We became the 100th members of the Victorian Biodiesel Group on this day. The man of the moment is Paul Martin. If you make the time, please have a look at this article from July 19th 2006 that was published in The Age Newspaper. Paul says in the article that, "Since 2000, I've spent about $70 on fossil diesel, and I've run a car the whole time." Check it people, it is a great read and the man is casual, friendly and approachable as he seems in the article there. No BS about it, he IS doing his bit for the environment, just as we are going to.
Also, checkout this Youtube of Daryl Hannah, she even drinks the biodiesel!! Of course, if you wanted to stick with Millers..then that'd be just fine!! LOL.

9/11

No need to say any more than that.... in rememberance of the people who lost their lives today 5 years ago on 9/11..and those who lost their lives in the Bali bombings..and the soldiers who have lost their lives abroad in the fight against terror. Let's hope they can all come home soon, so there is no more loss of life.
I am going to get you all to take time to read this wonderful blog post that is so very well thought out and a wonderful tribute to a real family man, Mr Robert Hussa, who lost his life on 9/11. It is a celebration of his life, the way he should be remembered.
Here is another link to look at, about Mr Tompsett, he leaves behind a lovely wife and daughter and has a memorial fund in his name that makes him live on.
Below you will see what life is all about, it is about looking after each other, and the planet Earth that we live off of. Looking after our environment and teaching our kids to do the same.

Our first visit to CERES...

Sarah rolling down the hill at the Merry Creek end of CERES.

Andrew, Mia, Nick and Tom on the "Skink" made of recycled bits and pieces.

These are just a few pics of our fun time we had at CERES today. It was a cold day and a bit windy but that was ok because it made the windmills turn and made the water wheel you see there in the pic turn and showed the kids what wind energy can do. There are chooks and veggie gardens, people busy putting together bikes from all the different bike parts donated to the centre and there is also a nursery that smells devine. We got there at the end of the cute market place they put on of a Saturday...a 4yr old boy walked past us as we walked in and said, "There's no veggies left anymore"...we laughed. Maybe next time hey..
Andew got to sit in on the last part of the Biodiesel meeting and we have ordered a book to come in the next week or so that is like a guidebook for dummies to make biodiesel.....not that we are dummies..and I did do very well in Chemistry at High School and in my Nursing Degree at University (thanks to avid watching of the Curiosity Show, ha-de-ha-ha).
Will upload more pics tomorrow or Monday.

Too bad if you have had enough....

Read today's post of Melly's, she has the right words and depicts what happens in a house of kids that grew up with Steve Irwin on the TV. It shows how much he "learned" ( in the famous word of my larrikan grandpa..God rest his soul.) our kids to love animals and each other. Despite the crazy ass things he may have done...at least it got attention!!! Aussies are good at getting attention through being larrikans. Plus, he did more good than crazy things and that is what counts.

Addit at 15:10hrs:::: NEWS just in, it better be another bloody joke or I am gunna go nuts.....SKY news says Peter Brock ran off the track in WA and has died. If so another legend has gone to heaven and kids all over the place will be upset...again. Andrew Denton will also be interviewed again I am sure because he is THE MAN who interviews everyone who is all that in Australia..and even celeb's who visit from International waters..I am sure he would even get an interview with Osama Bin Laden if he came to visit our shores.

15:20hrs, it has to be true, someone just text me the NEWS of Peter Brock aswell. It is another sad day for Australian's and thoughts go out to his family, friends and all admirers of a great man.

15:24...finaly confirmed by abc, but server too busy displayed when clicked on headliner.

Busy week here...

Here's my boy Tom yesterday at the local Events Centre where he was performing up on stage with his class. They danced to some great music and it was all rock and roll too. The students all practised throughout their lunch time and during drama lessons and it payed off well.
A lifeguard from the local Pool was there to get all of the 750 students into the mood to perform by getting up there with the microphone and singing a few songs. Even the parents got into it!!
My girls were bopping away there in the centre aisle aswell, they had a blast of a time.
Nicholas got an award in front of the school at the last school assembly, for persistence with working in class and helping other students out, I am oh-so-proud :)
Been a very busy week, cannot wait for Saturday as I am having the day off work. We are going as a family to the Biodiesel Meet in town.

And the beat goes on.....

The beat goes on, the beat goes on.
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain.
La de da de de, la de da de da.

Charleston was once the rage, uh huh. History has turned the page,
uh huh.
The miniskirt's the current thing, uh huh.
Tennybopper si our newborn king, uh huh.
And the beat goes on, the beat goes on.
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain.
La de da de de, la de da de da.

The grocery store's the supermart, uh huh.
Little girls still break their hearts, uh huh.
And men still keep on marching off to war.
Electrically they keep a baseball score.
And the beat goes on, the beat goes on.
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain.
La de da de de, la de da de da.

Well, yes, the beat does go on. Thanks to Sonny and Cher there.
I have just done my workout and I feel great. I managed to get rid of almost 2kg's in a week (just under 1lb) and the measurements of my calves and arms came down too. I am determined to look great and feel great, even as nice as the avatar I chose there :)
I am not so sure if it is necessarily the workout or the oggling I do of Bob there throughout the DVD that makes my heart rate rise. either way it is a great thing to be doing.
In other news my son is in a school performance on Wednesday and has to dress up rock and roll style. I cannot wait to take pics of it all.
On Saturday I get to take the day off work and go, as a family, to a Biodiesel Get together shindig kinda thing in town. Will blog of this when I get back on Saturday.

Update: Tom got out from school today and said that they had all watched one of Steve Irwin's Crocodile Hunter Episode's in class. They had a chance to speak about how they all felt inside and they also got to put pen to paper after recess to say how they felt. The teacher's are going to put the children's writings together as a book and send it on to Australia Zoo.

Bad joke???

This had better not be anyone's idea of a bad joke..I just heard that my kids' favourite celebrity Steve Irwin died as a result of a sting ray striking him with its barb in the chest somewhere off the coast of Port Douglas. I cannot find it anywhere on the news on the net but I hope it ain't true.
I know, better than anyone that people we know and love can die without any given notice. But if this is true then I am going to have to be there for the kids and let them know about it when they get out of school. Bye Crikey....I think I am in shock here. :(

Sorry, just got it on the net now, it is true...read about it here.
My kids have grown up watching his documentaries, have stayed up late watching his interviews on TV with his wife Terri and their little girl Bindi..now they have their little boy aswell. This sux, I know it is occupational hazzard for Steve but what a way to go.
We planned on going to Australia Zoo on our bus adventure aswell, hoping that Steve would be there at the time we visited and all. The kids only spoke of it the other day here in the lounge room.
